Members of the VIA Rail Canada Pensioners' Association now have the possibility to reserve hotels through Choice Hotels, Canada's largest lodging chain with over 270 hotels coast to coast. Based on the size of our Association, Choice Hotels is pleased to offer their Significant Organization Savings (SOS) rate program with discounted room rates that range from 15 to 20% off applicable rates at participating Choice locations worldwide.
How to access the SOS rates worldwide:
1. Call the toll-free number 1-800-424-6423 and quote the I.D. No. 00064692
2. Visit the website at: Choice Hotels and:
Enter the Client I.D. 00064692 in the box on the left hand side and click GO. The association's welcome page will appear.
To find a hotel, enter the city name in the Location box and add in your check-in and check-out dates. Your SOS rates will already appear in the rate box. Click "SEARCH HOTELS".
A list of hotels will appear with two sets of rates - SSO and the standard rates. The date you requseted will appear in yellow. Click on the SSO rate to select the hotel and proceed with the reservation.
To ensure you are receiving the correct rate it is imperative to make advance reservations. Then, when you arrive at the hotel which you reserved, just show your valid membership card for the current year and you are eligible for the special rate. It’s as simple as that.
